Europe Cries Out
Early in the first century Paulo heard in Troas the Macedonian cry: “Come over to Macedonia and help us” (Acts 16:9). In obedience to the vision, the apostle immediately crossed the Aegean Sea and started to spread the Gospel throughout Europe, starting on Macedonia, in Greece.
In this second missions trip, Paul stablished churches in Philippi, Thessalonica, Berea, Athens and Corinth, the most important greek cities then.
Years later Europe became the most Christian continent, which lasted for centuries, giving us Martin Luther, John Wesley and many missionaries that travelled the world, until not so long ago.
Nowadays Europe is full of temples, but they are full of tourists and many are used to other events (shows, concerts, parties), or closed and sold. Religious services are attended by the minority. Meanwhile the European seeks Ocultism, Transcedental Meditation, Yoga, Eastern Religions and Satanism.
Eve though Europe has a Christian tradition, it was calculated that 40% of Europeans have never opened a Bible. A research says that 90% of Europeas don’t know how to become Christians.
There’s a difference between a Pre-Christian Mission Field and a Post-Christian one, even though both need the Gospel. It’s the difference between the virgin woman and the divorced one. Although both are single, the virgin has hopes, dreams and goals, and the divorced one has frustrations, sore memories and unpleasant experiences. Post-Christianity Europe is the divorced wife of Jesus.
It is necessary to come over to Macedonia once again and preach the Gospel to this divorced woman. How many times did Israel get divorced from God and prostituted itself! How many times did God have mercy and proposed reconciliation to the prophets and wanted to receive His old wife again! (Hoseah 3:1-5).
Come Over ONCE AGAIN to Macedonia and help us!
