After one month in Poland, I’m back to Aachen. I spent 4 weeks evangelizing in 4 different cities. The project “Fang Den Wind” (“Catch the Wind“) reached a total of 15 cities, in which more than 400 people from 18 different nations participated. We also had the help of several churches and evangelization groups from Poland, among them the guys from “Generacja T“, a group of young people that gets together every vacation to evangelize and do social work in villages and small towns across Poland.
I went through so many experiences, learned a lot and met a lot of people. They were 4 unforgetable weeks! I took more than 700 photos of places, events, moments, people, smiles and looks I’ll keep in my heart forever.
I couldn’t learn a lot about the language and the Polish culture, but it is undeniable the love they (specially Christians) have for the Brazilians. The pastors always said that they want in POland the revival that is happening in Brazil. They believe that, like Brazil, a very Catholic country, was and is being evangelized, Poland can also be transformed by the Church. Many times they mentioned to me that they need the fire the Brazilians have to burn the hearts of the Polish. It was an honour for me to represent our nation in this project (I was the only Brazilian to participate!)
Every day we woke up, had a community prayer meeting and went out to evangelize throughout the city. We divided ourselves in several groups, had worship, drama, worked with children, gave testimonies, and also give out invitations for the services we had every night. The beginning of every week was very hard; there were not a lot of people that really got interested in hearing about Christ, but always at the end we had victory. The spiritual oppression in the city was broken and many people got saved – many even by their own houses!
Of so many moments, I would like to mention 2 of them, that touched me deeply. The first happened during the first week. After one of the evening services one of the guys from Generacja T invited me to go with them to the city to evangelize. After a moment of prayer we divided ourselves in 4 or 5 groups and went to the streets, in downtown Elk looking for people to talk about Jesus with. The second happened in the fourth week, in a village called Królewo, near Morag. I was there in one afternoon, with a Polish group. (I was the only one non-Polish there), where I shared the Word of God and, by the grace of God, many gave they lives to Jesus. After the “service”, we stayed there a little longer, talking to the people who lived there. A 17-year-old girl from our group talked almost the whole time with a 83-year-old lady. Several times I saw that tears were coming down both of their faces. Later we heard the testimony that that lady had given her life to Jesus that afternoon.
These moments impacted my life because I could see a Generation of young people (14 to 20-some years-old) that chose to go, during their vacations, to a distant city to go do the work of God. They were not interested in staying at home resting, watching TV, playing. By their own will they decided to participate in a evangelization project. They decided at 11 o’clock PM to go downtown to search for lives to talk about Jesus with. They decided to talk to a lady, who is over 60 years older, only so that one life could be saved. I was really happy to meet these young people and to be able to participate in these moments was a blessing in my life. I will always have Poland in my heart.
Down here, I’ll show a few photos. Soon I’ll send some more.
Niech ci? Bóg b?ogos?awi! God bless!
